Lily's sitting in my lap, watching the computer screen and saying
that. now she's playing with the mouse. :)

Lola got a keyboard for Christmas, from Nanna, also. She loves it.

Lily just loves it too, and was playing with it quite a bit today.

She also loved her brother's santa gift.

She got a stuffed ty elephant, called P'Nut from Santa and she would
play a game w/ me where she'd hug it, give it to me and then I'd hug
it and give it back.

Then we played an alternative version where we were switching back and
forth with her baby (it started with just the baby back and forth
she'd rock it, then I rocked it, and I introduced the elephant to
switch.

Walking

She apparently took 6 steps across the kitchen floor at her grandpa's.

She's been trying but not willing to take more than a step or two
w/out holding on.

though I did walk around with her outside while holding her hands
yesterday and she walked from the playground closest to our apt to her
dad standing outside the door.

I am such a .... I don't know.

I couldn't resist and gave them their present early (imma doing the
real shopping on friday anyway)

anyway. the classical music on tv seems to have lowered the volume in
my household just a bit. and it is much more relaxing than regular tv.
:D

dvd we're watching, vol 3 struggle for hope, had too much explaining
how they made it in the beginning but the music is beautiful.

On the phone

Godmom got Lily a phone for her birthday and delivered it last
Thursday, when I was stuck home because the hubby was sick.

Well now Lily's been playing like she's on the phone.

but not just with the toy phone,

with other things,

like she set of plastic measuring spoons on a ring she likes to play with.

Lily's figured out the arrow keys scroll down on the page, apparently.

though if I keep flickr pictures scrolling along on the screen she's
less likely to try and mess with the laptop itself.

Princesses

they just showed that "right fit" princess booster seat commercial,
with clips from cinderella. Lily stood up, got excited and squealed.

(well I'm not spam posting on lily's blog since I think the last few
posts that mentioned her didn't get sent there I'm spam posting on the
main blog with all of us)

she stayed w/ a friend while neal went a hunting and I learned....

not sure if I mentioned this here but he's been copying his sister's

with her and getting so excited (we get excited with him too but I
guess it's easier for him if he's observing us w/ her)

so she's like waving if you say hello, esp if you wave at her

so I'm doing that more anamatedly, since the school is working on
getting him to wave

exhausting

I just had to jump up and down singing and dancing and clapping to
keep the little ones from crying while waiting for Lola to get out of
the shower so I could put Tristan in.

Lily woke up cause I got a work call at 6AM (I was assigned the overnight phone)

so she was not happy when I left.

I'm home for a few minutes before I go to my next class (my class at
this time is a lost cause - which is stupid of me cause it was an easy
class but too much of what I consider busy work - get distracted too
much and I don't have time for distractions)

anyway she's asleep when I get home. we had pbs running for her to
calm her down. and dad gave her a pillow. well she just woke up a
little and then looked at the tv and laid her head back down. it was
cute. though I just turned around as she's up again.

I need to look into burning me a cd like the one my coworker made me
for my laptop. I lost the cd when attempting to install windows, and
I could use it to like get class readings done on the couch and play
w/ lily at the same time. (it's just not feasible to have an 11 month
old on your lap at a desk - at least not this 11 month old).

lily fell behind the couch and she was upright but kinda of folded with her legs up by her shoulders jsut sitting they being cool. i took her out and she got mad and is trying to get back in the same weird ass position

I'm guessing she liked it there cause it's near the heater unit and is warm (doesn't get hot enough to burn, don't worry)

We have declared that we want: more food.

got some mcd's. she's  grabbed the empty bag and has shoved her hand in it looking for eats. now that she's discovered there are none, she's waving it around and beating it.

Something her siblings haven't done

I had a kid. and stopped wearing earrings. and nearly lost the holes
(can't wear cheap earrings at all anymore)

So, before the other two were born, when the eldest was 2ish, I bought
these teeny white gold circles. they are a complete circle, no claspy
things, I can sleep in them, and move them around a bit in the ear, so
they pretty much never come out, unless there's some sort of special
occasion and I decide to wear something different (read: almost never
- besides - they match my wedding band) since they are tiny hoops and
the tiny part that goes through my ear fits into the tiny other end of
the circle (hence no pokey things) and are very difficult to put in.

Lily just ripped one out of my ear today.

My Diaper!

Lily needed a change. Trister was just out of the shower.I set two
diapers down on the couch, where Lily was. layed trister on the couch.
Lily had grabbed his diaper and kept grabbing it, and trying to grab
it while I was diapering him, even as he jumped off the couch, when I
was done. maybe you had to be there, but it was funny.

Lily's been practicing standing up. she's pulling her self up on my
leg and then letting go.

Neal called to ask when my lunch was and ask me to pick some stuff up
when I go on it.

I could hear Lily in the background. She had the hiccups.

sleepy

Lily was absolutely fighting sleep. We were trying to put her in her
playyard to sleep. She'd get to the point in my arms where she'd be
sound asleep but as soon as I laid her down she'd start screaming and
wouldn't go back to sleep. I ended up, in the end, climbing into the
playyard with her, and climbing back out when she was finally asleep.

She had her head turned behind her and was looking at the tv and playing with her toy. tried to get a picture of that but as soon as I pulled out the camera she turned and looked at it. and smiled at just the right moment. She seems to have the camera's timing down.

box drums

Had just set Lily in her rocker and she grabbed a little box from a
doll I just got in the mail on the floor. She held it in her right arm
and smacked its different sides with her left hand, like a small drum.

She also managed to maw down on a whole snyders oat bran pretzel today.

I'm not sleepy!

Lily gets fussy when she sleeps.

I said some weird mama talk thing about her being the fussiest baby
that ever fussed or something like that.

then Lola starts singing about it.

So I co shhhh she's falling asleep.

she then groggily shoots her eyes open like nope, not me. not falling asleep.

then closes them again.

course then she got too hot and didn't really fall asleep. and now
she's cooing in my lap...

she was going dadada while looking at my desktop. so I pointed at
tristan in the pic of her and tristan and I said that's tristan.

She looked at the pic and then turned and looked directly at tristan
and I said yes that's tristan two. there's the picture of tristand and

I'm an evil mom.

I can't read a book w/ Lily. She tries to eat it. She's fascinated by
the contrast of black letters on a white page.

so after giving up reading. I set it just out of her reach, in hopes
she'd scootch/ crawl to it. She reached. but couldn't quite get it.

sometimes I wish I had two cameras

she, the camera and I are sitting on the couch (I just uploaded stuff)
and she's bent over it touching it and squealing at it.

siblings

Tristan keeps going up to Lily and cuddling her, they'll hold hands,
or just now, he put his face gently next to hers and she reached out
and touched his face.

I can never grab and turn on the camera in time however :(

Lily figured out sitting up!

Yesterday she was on our bed at a slight angle and managed to pull
herself up and just now she did it laying flat on the couch next to
me. Yay!

too early

fell asleep on the couch last night and let tristan have my bed (he
tends to fall asleep earlier that way)

usu I move him to his room or just move him over on the bed and then
come to bed later but I just stayed on the couch last night

Lily started fussing this morning I fed her but when it became obvious
she was no longer hungry I gave her her paci. Well she didn't fully
calm down until I got off the couch. guess it was too warm.

so I'm up at 730 when I don't work and the kids have no school

it's too early.

trying baby food

tried rice last night. she's had a bit of oatmeal before, on a day
where I'd forgotten her formula and daycare used some extra they had
until I brought some more on my lunch, but I hadn't actually tried
feeding her yet.

not sure what she thought of the rice. She was far more interested in
hangng on to the bowl and taking the spoon and putting the spoon in
her mouth then actually trying to eat anything off of the spoon. She
did only put the spoon part in her mouth, not the handle, which I find
interesting. :)

I'm working the evening today.

hubby went to his dad's this morning, so I got to spend the day just me and Lillers. (the older two are in school).

I decided to take a short nap with her because, well, sleep is good, and being a mom in general means you don't get much.

I get woken up by the phone. I go back to bed. She doesn't wake up until I've laid down next to her. and she sees me first thing waking up and gets the biggest smile on her face!

Lily just  a moment ago was appearing to fall asleep - and had such a tight grasp of my pinky it was turning purple.

Then she tried sailing off my lap while I was typing this. Caught her in mid air sailing off the couch.

woah! it's a mom!

she was sleeping on my lap. I didn't even realize she woke up. I look down and it's like she's in shock, all wide-eyed, like omg! it's mom! and she didn't realize I was there before.

I had her propped up in the corner of the couch. she dropped her pacifier and leaned all the way forward to try to grab it until she was on her belly (and her face in the paci). Then she rolled over on her back! yay!

oh, I forgot

She's getting better at hand control. Neal saw her take her paci out of her mouth smile and put it back in last week (it's got a handle so it's easier for her to do that). Once might be a lucky occurence. I observed her last night actually moving it around to try to get it in right. Wasn't quite getting it though, so I helped.

Talking

I had Lily on the nebulizer and she kept turning her head. Lola comes in the room and starts talking to her. I'm like thank you, you gave her something to look at (she stopped turning her head so it was easier to keep the mask on her).

Well then Lily starts going aaaaaaa. So I was like "Are you talking to your big sister?"

Then Lola goes, "are you talking to me? I think she wants me to talk to her in baby language. aaaaa. aaaaaaa. aaaaaa....."

We're trying

She's almost 4 months. not rolling over yet... but she's trying to sit up. can get herself about at a 30 degree angle and hold it for a bit.

Still just various forms of aaaaaa and oaaaa and squealing for sounds. I'm a bit paranoid about language development; her brother's three and can't really talk, was just a little behind his big sister though as and infant though... Lola was mmmmm mmmm, in addition to aaaaa,  at this age. I keep reminding myself all kids are different.

Sick :(

I can't believe how many times I've taken her in to see the dr. and almost every time she's wheezing. just had the flew recently. had to go to the er 2/3 AM monday morning and didn't get home till 6 AM. she had the flu. they gave her a one dose steroid for a croup (sp?) cough.

follow up today. wheezing. breathes fast when she gets excited. Still nebulizer 3x/day. might change the meds next week. and a prescription steroid.

besides the congestion and coughing and wheezing she appears really healthy. big girl, active, eats well, etc. but it's still scary. i know part of it is big brother brings stuff home from school (I just don't have to take him in for everything cause he's older). He never got sick until he started school, really. but he's autistic, and needs the schooling. Big sister only occasionally catches what everyone else gets. I'm hoping Lily will grow out of the wheezing. her big sister did, but then big sister was never bad enough to need anything more than allergy meds.

When she's crying in the car, and I can't exactly get back there to calm her down. putting on the Jason Mraz Mr. A-Z cd works almost without fail.
