Must have Yogurt!

Took Lily to Target to pick up some things.

When she wants something, she'll point at it and make a noise to get
my attention.

Walked through the cookie and candy aisles, and most of the other
aisles, with absolutely no requests.

Walk by the yogurt in the cooler, and she points at it and makes a
noise, as I walk past it she starts squealing while pointing, until I
get one and hand it to her.

Lola was much the same way. She'd be really good in the toy section -
but I couldn't take her any where near clothes and shoes...

No and Sharing

I got a video of this. when I have the patience for it I'll upload it
somewhere...

anyway, I had Lily sitting on the counter and Tristan sitting at the
counter and I was giving them strawberries, one at a time.

Well, every time I gave Tristan one, Lily would yell "no!" at him, so
I decided to try and get a video of it.

Well, she says no, then she grins because she knows why I'm
videotaping (yes, I know, I shouldn't encourage her) and squeals at
him again. He then, without a second thought, hands the strawberry to
her.

I was floored

and of course got him another one (the last one) since he was such a
good sharing brother.

Cooperation

He had a cup of juice w/ dinner

Lily wanted it. made complaining baby sounds.

When he'd just about finished it, he walked up to her highchair and
gave her the last little bit.

mini micro

Neal had been in a video game on his computer.

Lily managed to tab out of the game and then use the mouse to go to
the start menu and select Firefox and opened Firefox.

I guess she wanted to surf. (she does love looking at pictures on
Flickr with me.)

Hello

Lily waved at me and said "hewva" her version of hello.

I waved back, but didn't say anything.

Then she says, in an insisting tone, "hewv-o" with an emphasis on the 'o'

So I said "hello" and waved. and that made her happy

Lily prefers the original Blues Clues

We put blues clues on and then change it after it's over to PBS so she
can watch teletubbies

Well usually she doesn't pay much attention to tv unless there is
singing on it or its teletubbies.

they had an older Blues Clues episode (with Steve). She was at the TV
squealing at it.

(and then I noticed she had found one of my bras and managed to put it
over her shoulders, like a shawl...)

Their own level of communication

Look in my room - Tristan's climbing the dresser, Lily's watching
Lily comes out of the bedroom. with her sippy cup (which had water)
stacked on a cup that was on the dresser
- She wants me to get milk for both of them.

Tristan's eating spaghetti in his high chair. Lily approaches him. and
he drops some right in her hand.

Tristan removes his diaper because he wants it changed. Lily comes out
holding the diaper and bringing it to me while shouting mamaa!

feed me!

go and grab myself a tortilla.

Lily goes mamamamama...

and then I give her a piece

and she grins and babbles.

apparently she's done. She's saying mamamamama again...

Must have Mama!

It's funny. I went home on my lunch yesterday, as usual. Lily cried if
I wasn't next to her. but when I got up to leave and waved bye she was
fine. Apparently she's cool with me leaving, but if I'm home I better
be paying attention to her! lol.

Cute, as usual

Lily was unbelievably cute while on my lunch today.

I nuked me some of that Uncle Ben's microwave rice in a bag (It's
actually pretty good - esp the buttery rice - and I'm picky about my
rice)

then I took my food and went into the room to check out the baby and the daddy.

She just woke up as I entered the room. She sat up looked liked she
was about to get mad because my food was in the way of her food, and
then apparently changed her mind.

I fed her a few spoonfuls of rice, then Dad asked for the cup on the
dresser, which I reached over and grabbed for him. He drank some and
gave the last to Lily, which she continued to try to drink long after
the cup was empty. When I took the cup for a refill, she proceeded to
get mad. Did not want rice from daddy instead.

Then I brought the water back, and she drank some but then didn't want
anymore, so we put it back on the dresser. I fed her more rice, until
she turned around and looked at the cup, so we gave her more water,
which she finished, and then played with the ice and dumped it on the
bed. After picking it up, we took her out to the living room. I held
her on my hip while I made a couple of phone calls. She babbled quite
sweatly and clicked her tongue a bit. She tried to steal my pop, so I
nursed her a bit.

Then I got her some cereal to snack on. Life has this new stuff with
chocolate flavored oats. She started tossing it. so I pulled out a
chocolate flavored oat chunk which she proceeded to keep in her mouth
and suck on. Brought her some baby carrots too, but they got tossed.
Then we put on some Barney for her (because Teletubbies would be on
soon and she loves them, and because tv makes mommy going bye bye
easier). I grabbed up my stuff and went out the door and waved bye
bye. She waved back, grinning at me.

I don't know, maybe you had to be there (or be her mom) but it was
just adorable.

strep

Lily was really sick early last week, and we all had a head cold that
seemed to progress through December. Well after getting a rash after
being sick, I took her in. She tested positive for strep throat. so
now I'm thinking I should have taken her into pediatric after hours
care instead of putting it off last week (I was sick myself and she
appeared to feel better by the time they were open).

She also had fun exploring and crawling and sort of walking around the
room in the Dr's office.

Ipod

last night, after I got home from work, Lily woke up (she was sleeping
on the couch and her mommy radar went off about a second before I
opened the door).

Well, I decided to see what she thought of my ipod. I showed her the
pics I had on it, which I've done before. Then I put on something
soft. Initially she tried eating the earbud but then I put it near her
ear. She was so cute, holding the bud to her ear and sometimes swaying
to the music.
